We are excited to announce our brand new dancewear line available in the studio! Stop by to see our new line of beautiful leotards, tights, dance shoes, Allegro logo wear and gift items. All dress code requirements are available for purchase in the studio with the exception of the So-Danca tap shoes for our advanced tappers.
Allegro has specific attire and shoe requirements for all students. A dress code adds uniformity, promotes teamwork and discipline in the classroom. Females should wear hair off their face for all classes (all ballet students must wear a bun). Jewelry should be limited to stud earrings. Male students should wear black jazz or sweat pants, a black t-shirt and proper footwear. A ballet skirt is optional for ballet students.
Preschool Dancers
Pink leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes and/or black mary-jane velcro tap shoes.
5&6 Combo 1 through Advanced Level
- Black leotard, pink tights and genre-appropriate shoes.
- Leather Ballet shoes.
- Tap shoes are black velcro mary-jane style. Ages 10 & Up plus Mini – Senior Company dancers should have the SoDanca TA-48 tap shoe in black.
- Black shorts or leggings are appropriate in classes other than ballet.
- Jazz Shoes are tan slip-on.
- Modern, lyrical, contemporary students may dance with barefeet, black socks or turning Shoes.
- Tights are only mandatory in ballet class.
Acro, Tumble Tots & Tumble/Jazz
Any color leotard without tights or shoes – shorts are allowed as well. Students taking other classes back to back should just wear their black leotard to acro.
Hip Hop
Students may wear anything they’d like for hip hop – as long as you can dance in it! No bare bellies, offensive sayings and no jeans! In the winter, please bring your sneakers and change into them before class, otherwise you trail salt, sand and wetness into the studios.
Adults
Leotards are NOT required! Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear!
In the colder months, dancers are welcome to wear form-fitting black longsleeve t-shirts or sweaters and black sweatpants for warm-up only.
In the summer session, dancers of all ages are welcome to wear colored leotards to class.
