Lyrical & Contemporary

Lyrical dance is a wonderful way for dancers to learn to truly express themselves as artists. We tell stories of love, sadness, friendship and hope through this genre. Lyrical is a combination of the techniques learned in ballet, jazz and modern. Choreography encompasses the use of balance, flexibility and control utilizing the lyrics and feeling of the music. In level 6 & 7, we also work on Contemporary Dance techniques too – which a real combination of all genres of dance and allows the choreographer (and subsequently his/her students’) to create truly unique ways of moving.
